Alternative uses for tins no.1

Take one small, empty food tin. Remove the bottom of the tin to create a shallow tube or ring.

Lightly grease the inside of the ring and place in a pan over a medium heat. Add water around the ring to a depth of a couple of centimetres. Some will seep under into the ring itself, but this doesn't matter.

When the water comes to a simmer, crack an egg into the ring. Leave to poach for around 6 minutes or until the yolk reaches your preferred level of runniness.

Remove the ring and you should left with a nice round(ish) poached egg - perfect for that Leftover Haggis & Egg "McMuffin" that you know you've always wanted to make.

The ring could also be used for making crumpets (that might have to be a future post) or for when you want to create elegant-looking towers of food like they do on Masterchef, only for them to be demolished in a matter of seconds by Greg and John, like gastronomic Godzillas.
